About Gliderbase

Gliderbase is a paraglider comparison site.

Using the filters, you can find paragliders, for example:

  • A-certified
  • lighter than 4 kg
  • for a takeoff weight of 110 kg

To you, the pilot, Gliderbase provides a transparent paraglider overview. The comparison feature helps you find a good pre-selection of wings. You can also find a fitting wing size for your weight, before you dive deeper into the details with your flight instructor, in an online forum, or directly at the manufacturer's site.

The goal

The goal of Gliderbase is to make the sport more approachable, and to celebrate all of the beautiful and fascinating wing creations that become more and more sophisticated every year. We strive to present all wings in the best possible light.

The data

All data on Gliderbase has been gathered in cooperation with the manufacturers. The more information we can gather on the paraglider models, the more we can all benefit from good filtering and search. That's also why we welcome any contributions to the data. See something outdated? Have a wing photo to share? Want to see a particular model or brand? Let us know.

Objectiveness

It's very important that Gliderbase remains as objective as possible. So, while improving the site, we will avoid any kind of direct rating for a particular paraglider model or brand. Ratings can easily lead to wrong conclusions or put good wings at a disadvantage. After all, different paragliders fit different pilots.

Open for collaboration

Gliderbase improves by constantly adding new wings and by enriching the data. Ultimately, we want to become a good compass for paragliding pilots. But we need your help. If you have any feedback, ideas or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.
